The Megs McLean Band Members

Ilya Ignatov

Ilya is a lead guitarist born in Abakan, Russia. At age 8, he moved to the US with his family.  Growing up around working musicians and performing in over 1,000 live shows resulted in exposure to a variety of styles ranging from rock music to classical; and setting the groundwork for a career in recording, performing, producing music, and instructing (Seattle School of Rock). His electrifying style has established him firmly amongst the elite guitarists whom have emerged from Seattle and set the stage for Ignatov to lead in this new Seattle sound.

Josh Willaert

Josh has been drumming for most of his life. He has become known as “The Barefoot Drummer” because he plays without his shoes to really FEEL the music. Originally from Minnesota, Josh has been drumming professionally for over 10 years on stage and in the studio. He’s toured throughout the Midwest in renowned festivals such as SXSW and Warped tour, playing every genre from heavy metal to folk-rock to hip hop. In 2016 he moved to Seattle to continue building his resume and has now found his home kicking it with Megs.

James Manigley

James rounds out the group with his proverbial cutting-edge rhythm guitar and harmonic keyboards. Born in London with a guitar in his hands, James set himself on a path to ensure that music would always be his life. James embraced music college, in London, studying guitar and keyboards while specializing in popular music performance. Manigley toured the UK with an extensive range of bands, including Thunderclap Newman and Big Country. James recently moved to the US where he found a way to continue to develop his professional prowess by contributing to the Seattle sound of Megs “Crunge” originals.

Dylan Welsh

Dylan grew up in Seattle, WA, and performed at the Northwest’s largest festivals, participated in two tours of the Midwest, by the age of 16.  He was the youngest viola player to be accepted into the Seattle Rock Orchestra (at the request of founder Scott Teske). Welsh also went on to study jazz and world music at the internationally renowned Berklee College of Music. In addition to playing the bass with the band on this project, Welsh is an expert on many stringed instruments including guitar, and dobroDylan previously worked with Megs prior to contributing on the dobro in the recording of “Its My Truck”, and also played drums in Megs award winning Virtual Reality production “Virtually Me”.
