Crooner Content: ReelTime Launches VR Mobile App Featuring Musician Megs McLean

ReelTime wants to make the world safe for superior virtual reality (VR) content.

The company’s ReelTime VR app and production suite is establishing itself as “the leader in the production and distribution of Virtual Reality Content,” according to a statement provided to VRjournal. “ReelTime VR, which is available now to nearly 2 billion devices worldwide for iPhone, Android, and Blackberry devices, is the most technologically advanced and the most creative Virtual Reality content to be released to the public to date. (And it’s) the only company to offer a complete end to end solution.”

Best of all, it’s a free application with content that can be viewed with or without a virtual reality headset using most available smartphones.

How does it work?

“The user is immersed in a 360 degree viewing experience, allowing them to look up, down, and all around as if they were standing right there,” explains the company. “Breakout Country Music artist Megs McLean and ReelTime gave Taylor Swift concert attendees a special look into ReelTime VR during her performance at the concert in Seattle. The concert attendees were able to view “Virtually Me”, a revolutionary documentary shot in full 360 virtual reality which is featured on the ReelTime VR app.”

Industry observers are saying that the ReelTime VR production of Megs “Virtually Me” is “the most sophisticated and enduring virtual reality content to date.”

“Unlike lesser quality productions that utilize consumer Go Pro cameras providing lower picture quality and awkward movement, “Virtually Me” was produced with a proprietary system and shot with 361VR using Red Dragon Cameras,” according to the statement. “Compared to other applications such as the Samsung Gear VR which can only be used in conjunction with a Samsung Galaxy Note 4, Reeltime VR is available to most smartphones worldwide and can be used with any phone based VR headset.”

Word on the street is that the ReelTime VR platform outguns Oculus Rift in every aspect including quality, price, and entertainment.

The smartphone VR tech will go a long way to spread interest in virtual reality, especially until peripherals like headsets become more ubiquitous and more affordable.

In the meantime, let there be music!

Megs wow’d the Art Marble 21 crowd Tuesday evening, before country newcomer Drew Baldridge took the stage.
Megs, a recent graduate of Glacier Peak High School in Snohomish, Washington, is a singer song writer who has also acted in commercials and performed in stage productions. She recently released “It’s My Truck”, her first single from her forthcoming album.

Megs Becomes Immortalized

Megs Becomes Immortalized

Seattle, June 25, 2015 (Newswire) – Megs Mclean has become the first artist to have her likeness etched into the infamous vintage Neve 8048 recording console at London Bridge Studio that was built in 1973. Megs also joined notable acts such as Pearl Jam, Blind Melon, Alice and Chains, Melissa Etheridge, Macklemore, Candle Box, Mother Love Bone, and other standouts as having recorded through this piece of Seattle music history.

Megs in studio experience and the infamous Neve can be seen in the documentary “Making Megs Mclean “It’s My Truck”” which can be viewed at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MBCoo2vAz2M

Megs was joined in her recording of her breakout single “It’s My Truck” by legendary Seattle drummer Ben Smith who has been the drummer for Heart for over twenty years and Blind Melon Bassist Brad Smith who’s international sensation “No Rain” was recorded through the Neve at London Bridge in 1992.

Ben Smith drummer for Megs McLean and Heart stated: “She’s a super strong singer at a young age but obviously is motivated about it. The band I play in “Heart” has an element of their sound that’s super aggressive so that’s part of my style is being able to hit things aggressively and find the right spots and dynamics in songs. I’m not really surprised by the aggressiveness of the tune “It’s My Truck”. It’s always fun to come out and play, come out and really play and really bring it. The roominess of this space, that really works well for drums so it feels great to play in this room and they do a great job of recording it here and I love to come out here.”

Geoff Ott Co-Owner London Bridge and recent Pacific NW Chapter President of the Grammys (2013-2015) commented: “From the onset London Bridge Studio was built to be an over the top recording studio. It just screams rock and roll. They brought in this beautiful vintage Neve and it’s all hand wired and it’s built with resistors and capacitors and different older technology. Nowadays you can put stuff on a computer chip but the cool thing about something like this is that since everything was made by hand every channel sounds a little bit different. So everything you run through it just kinda gets like a little magical curve put on it. I think people are going to be pretty blown away by Megs. I think what Seattle brings to country is a little bit of the grunge factor and what Megs brings is that feeling of country. We wanted to do something special for her and to memorialize the new sound that has emerged once again through this magical space so we had her face, name, and of course “It’s My Truck” etched into the center of the Neve for all who will follow.”
Megs Mclean responded by saying: “There’s no words to describe how honored I feel. There is such a rich history and sense of greatness that just hangs throughout London Bridge from the magic that has happened here over the years. To think that my face and single “It’s My Truck” is not only the first to be etched in the iconic Neve 8048 but that it has become a part of Seattle’s rich music history forever is something that I am still taking in. I encourage all who can to come tour this world renowned studio and experience the magic in person.”

Seattle, June 26, 2015 (Newswire) – Megs Mclean has released the first single off of her debut album recorded at world renowned London Bridge Studio. Megs recently became the first artist to have her likeness etched into the infamous vintage Neve 8048 recording console at London Bridge Studio that was built in 1973. Megs also joined notable acts such as Pearl Jam, Blind Melon, Alice and Chains, Melissa Etheridge, Macklemore, Candle Box, Mother Love Bone, and other standouts as having recorded through this piece of Seattle music history.

Megs was joined in her recording of her breakout single “It’s My Truck” by legendary Seattle drummer Ben Smith who has been the drummer for Heart for over twenty years and Blind Melon Bassist Brad Smith who’s unforgettable bass line in the international sensation “No Rain” was recorded at London Bridge in 1992.

Geoff Ott Co-Owner London Bridge and recent Pacific NW Chapter President of the Grammys (2013-2015) commented: “I think what Seattle brings to country is a little bit of the grunge factor. If you think about “I’m going to be in a country band you go to Nashville, you go to these amazing studios, you get these amazing players, they are just killer and they lay it down and you’re like that sounds awesome. Up here we are a little less refined. We like things a little bit looser, a little bit sloppier, which is kinda down homey, it’s kinda swampy, it kinda fits into that Americana thing really well I think. And what Megs brings is that feeling of country. I think people are going to be blown away when they hear Megs and “It’s My Truck”. She’s got some great pipes and really knows what she’s after. “

Megs McLean commented by saying: “I really hope that from the song “It’s My Truck that people will be able to have fun. That it will be a song they can crank up in their car or of course their truck. I just wanted to do a fun energetic upbeat song where people can just roll down the window and do a little Megs dance to. It has been an amazing experience recording in such a world renowned studio with true icons in the Industry. And not just Geoff Ott, Ben Smith, and Brad Smith but we were also able to travel to Nashville and have the legendary Jeff Balding do the final mix in person and to have it Mastered at Georgetown Masters by Andrew Mendelson. I feel truly blessed to have been able to work with all of those who were a part of this.”
